Open Policy RegardingAwards, Trophies, and Parties
Chelsea Recreation provides all participants with individual recognition and achievement certificates. Chelsea Recreation does not encourage or discourage coaches to supplement the standard certificates. Chelsea Recreation does request that if you wish to supplement the standard certificate that you follow these guidelines.
1. Use discretion – Whether you are having an end of the year pizza party or handing out medals or trophies, please do it away from the other teams.
2. If you choose to supplement the standard certificates with an award, trophy, or party, it should be a gift from the coach. You may ask parents if they like to contribute either monetarily or with other “goods” (paper, napkins, cups, etc), but it must be a voluntary nominal donation without pressure and all team mates, regardless of parent contribution must receive equally.
Those who do not follow the above guidelines put this “open” policy at risk.
