THE IMPORTANCE OF RECREATION:

Recreation contributes to ones quality of life by creating opportunities for individuals to grow physically and mentally.  These opportunities when offered in a positive non threatening environment are beneficial to playing and learning. Recreation in any community is a necessity.  It is a major part in creating ones quality of life.

OUR MISSION:

Chelsea Recreation strives to fulfill the recreation needs in the community with emphasis placed on providing youths within the Chelsea School District quality opportunities to develop life long leisure skills.  Our affordable youth sport programs provide a wholesome, fun filled learning atmosphere devoted to mastering physical and mental skills.  The programs are not intended as a training ground for future stars, but as an age appropriate opportunity to develop and grow.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION 

1. Financial Scholarships are available upon request, courtesy of Chelsea United Way.

2. All programs are subject to change based on facility availability.

3. Sorry, no prorated fees or make up dates due to inclement weather.

REGISTRATION POLICY

1.  Pre registration is necessary for all programs.  A $10 late fee will be accessed for all registrations submitted after the deadline.

2. Please register early.  Late registration will only be accepted to fill remaining vacancies in programs.  Waiting list will be formed for all late entries once a program is full.

3. Consolidation of divisions may be necessary due to enrollment.

REFUND POLICY

1. All programs cancelled by the Chelsea Recreation Council will be refunded in full.  Participants requesting a refund before the start of a program are entitled to a refund less a $5.00 service fee.  NO REFUNDS will be granted once the program begins.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Chelsea Recreation Council will operate under the School Boards decision in terms of inclement weather.  If the school district is CLOSED, then all recreation programs will be cancelled.  If the school district closes early due to inclement weather, then all recreation programs will be cancelled for the evening.  All other cancellations due to inclement weather will be made the day of at the discretion of the Recreation Director.
